You think you know Facebook, but get ready to be surprised<\/strong>. The network has been constantly evolving since it was created to meet the changing needs of us, the users. In the whole field of possibilities, we assume there are some details that may have escaped you. After all, that's what we're here for - to keep up with what's new, remember the old niceties and help you navigate \ud83d\ude42 .<\/span><\/p>\n

In the following lines, we'll show you a few tricks you can apply to your personal profile to make it more \"you\" - the way you're comfortable with it being - more open, more closed, more personal or quite social.<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Messages - \"Other\" folder<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Some of you may have been paying attention to this option, but most people we've shared with didn't know before that their messages are grouped in two places. In the \"Other\" folder, you'll find those messages that were sent directly from various brands' pages, from people you don't know, or messages that Facebook considers spam. Since Facebook changed its algorithms and sending direct messages from brands is no longer possible, the social network has set its sights on eliminating messages sent by people unknown to you.<\/span><\/p>\n

To open the \"Other\" folder, you first need to click on your messages. There, next to \"Inbox\", \"Other\" is located (as shown below).<\/span><\/p>\n

Don't be surprised if you also find messages from your friends from a year ago in this folder \ud83d\ude09<\/span><\/p>\n

2. How do you hide things from your profile?<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The privacy settings that are included in Facebook apps are many and serious options. You can restrict sharing your status changes and photos for display to specific friends<\/span>, <\/span><\/span>and make them publicly available. You have the option to adjust who sees your content by creating certain groups or even excluding some during your status update,<\/span><\/p>\n

Click on the arrow on the top right and select \"Settings\". A window will open:<\/span><\/p>\n

Then select \"Privacy\" and you will see the option to select different options:<\/span><\/p>\n

Click on the friendship icon on the top right and click \"View All\" (<\/span>View All). <\/span><\/span>From there, you can choose to accept or decline the invitation.<\/span><\/p>\n

4. \"Most popular stories\" or \"Most recent\" option<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The number of your friends multiplies, and this multiplies the posts in the stream of information. This makes monitoring and updating statuses a task of increased difficulty! That's why Facebook makes it easier for us by deciding to show only those that are most relevant to your interaction with others. To change this and see new posts in the order they are posted, click in the \"News\" box on the left and you will see that you can set what appears.<\/span><\/p>\n

Most interesting<\/b><\/span> <\/b>are those that Facebook selects based on your preferences, and <\/span>latest <\/b><\/span>are the posts of all, sorted in order of sharing, with the most recent ones at the top.<\/span><\/p>\n

Facebook's latest change<\/b><\/span><\/a> is related to your news settings. <\/span> You'll now be able to select pages and news from friends to see first. For security and privacy reasons, it's a good idea to keep track of exactly what information you've given and to whom. To see the apps and programs that are linked to your account, you need to click \"Settings\" -> \"Apps\". <\/span>The full list of apps will appear there and you have the option to delete it or make it automatically invisible to others.<\/span><\/p>\n
