We have recently started a series of publications that aim to help small businesses navigate the wide field of opportunities online. В Part 1 Mirjana briefly describes the benefits and gives you an idea of what you can do on a minimal or zero budget to have a website. Today I will try to introduce you to Google: what's available as services for businesses, to make you more visible to the end customer for free or with the need of minimal resources for advertising on Google.
The common perception is that Google's services are only for big business. In fact, despite its many costly ways to advertise on Google and help big businesses, te also offer many free and affordable ways to help even the smallest business. I have collected a few of them that I find extremely useful and effective tools and applications, that change the rules of the game, even for entrepreneurs the caliber of the Little Match Seller:
-
Google Sites
First on my personal favorites list is Google sites. Here you can quite free to make a basic website for your business or for a specific project. You can choose from preset templates (templates) on the site. You have the option to change the look to fit your vision and fit into the overall image of the company. The platform can also be used to create an in-house website. (Read more: Tips for small businesses online: part 1 - website)
-
Google Analytics
In second place put the best way I can think of to understand your customers' habits. With this tool you can measure every aspect of your site. You can track where and how customers are coming to your site and from what devices (desktop, tablet or phone). Google Analytics also shows you which parts of your site are performing well. It's free for all sites that have under 5 million views per month, and if you have more, you probably won't have much trouble affording the fee. You can also use it to easily analyze your Google ad results.
-
Google Webmaster Tools
This is a tool that gives you visibility into how you position yourself and how visible you are in Google search engine. You can learn more about the problems Google is having indexing your site. Just like Google Analytics, it allows you to track the links that drive traffic to your site as well as all the links on the web to it. Simply add and verify your site and you can start getting information right away!

Places for Business
This is the most useful option for businesses with physical locationswho work with end customers and want to be visible online. First you need to make sure your address can be found via Google Maps. Then you can add the appropriate information, photos and contacts to make it easier for your customers and confirm your location. In order to be as easily discoverable as possible, it's a good idea to consult a professional. In order not to leave you asking unanswered questions, I will tell you specifically that for 179 leva you can get a professionally made localization from Proper media. This is a one-time investment that will work for you for a long time by bringing a large number of customers on site in your shop, restaurant or workshop.

Blogger
This is something very useful that you can take advantage of. With this platform Google allows you to create your own blog for free with your own posts, photos, videos and more. Here you can choose from pre-made designs for convenience, and you can also host your blog for free at If you don't have a copywriter available to write content, you can hire a professional to help you create articles related to your industry that attract the attention of your future customers and set you apart from the competition.
If you are not at all competent to dig through Google services and deal with the Inernet in general, you could seek professional help. At the Proper media office, we love Google and are fluent in everything the giant makes available to businesses online. Also available are Mirjana and Teddy, who write articles on a variety of topics with ease and always surprising thoroughness.
