Pins, boards and...
Hopes
remember me our previous blogpostif not - we remind you! We shared a little more about the nature of Pinterest and the basic concepts (pins and boards) used in this social network. Pinterest focuses on good visual content. We don't exclude, of course, good "peppy" text, because that's where we have to present our products. And if we don't, who could better explain what they are for and why users should get them?
Following are some tips on images and text that will help us manage pins and boards in Pinterest effectively. Ta-da!
What should bethe images?
Short, simple and clear - high quality. That doesn't mean you have to be a designer or artist to capture unseen sights! Equip yourself with a nice camera, read photo guides or the easiest - seek help from a photographer!
It is also important to be familiar with the proper arrangement of your pins. According to some guides, it's a good idea to arrange your photos like this:
- one pin with useful information;
- two beautiful pins;
- three, expressing agency.
For perfect borders and pins it's good to avoid faces in photos, pins should have dimensions 735px x 1102px, using the Pinterest button is also imperative. И! Be sure to familiarize yourself with color psychology theory - colors influence emotions!
Images without faces get 23% more re-pinning. Other interesting facts about pins are that photos that have more red and orange tones are much more liked than those in blue or with many colors together. Colors can have a significant impact on your success, so research their emotional importance to people.
Highlighting the images
When preparing your images, as mentioned, you should always keep in mind the dimensions suitable for Pinterest - 735px x 1102px. But! If you want to stand out, you can also create pins with a longer length than usual. This will make you stand out, and you'll come across pins on the social web that tell a story and are therefore longer.
According to network research, pins with a 2:3 ratio (1,102 pixels tall) or 4:5 received the most traffic. Test which sizes work best for you.
You can include a longer pin at the top of your blog post so you'll get extra traffic.
When creating your images, always think about the message they convey. Experiment with your pins, but always think about the overall presentation of your brand. Don't be afraid to try different imaging tools and apply new ideas either.
The texts in your pins
Your pin descriptions are as important as the images. For example, Mitt Ray of Social Media Examiner gives a few pointers, and we're sharing them with you:
- Longer descriptions get more re-pinning. It's nice to have a little more than 300 characters. BuzzFeed says that long pins combined with a positive tone get more re-pins, even though they're not pretty, useful or interesting.
- Include a link to your blog. This way you can link back and users will get more information.
- Use a cool call-to-action. If you want users to click on your pins, do your best to pique their curiosity.
- Use keywords. Your audience also uses keywords to search for what they find interesting. So if you have optimization goals, use Pinterest too!
- Mention others. When you share pins of other people or brands, thank them, encourage them, create a rapport with them. That's how you'll create friends and followers.
Important! Here you can skip The hashtagsbecause they will not be of any use to you, as in Instagram и Twitter. On Pinterest, hashtags are used as a category guideline and do not help our content show up in search.
Only about 75-100 letters show up in the description of your pins in the board, so put there the most important information.
That's it for today! We will serve you more "utilities" are Pinterest, pins and boards.
