On Facebook they welcome, on the services they send. It's safe to say that this is required nowadays, right?
A well-developed and well-maintained fan page gives a business many advantages, and we at Proper.media help it to do this with care and quality. That's why we're dedicating this blog post to a few best practices that we've tested and that we think will be useful for you too!
How to increase and engage your fans on your page?
1. Use the "Invite" when you receive a like on a post from a user who does not follow your page.
When you want to increase the likes on your page, in case it is new or you want to develop it further, try this approach. The "Invite" button allows you to send an invitation on behalf of the page you manage.
Where is it located?
When you click on the likes under your post, a list of people's names will appear. The invite button will also appear next to them. You can check your posts regularly, especially those that generate a lot of likes. The more people for have had interactions with it, the more are those new people it will reach.
Note that if the user is a personal friend on Facebook, the invitation will appear from your personal profile. On the rest, Facebook says, "ANNIE'S BUSINESS" invited you to like his page."
Liking a post doesn't necessarily mean your invitation to like will be accepted, but it doesn't stop you from trying. It's one of the very few organic opportunities to grow pages that you don't have to pay for.
2. Ask people to rate you with the option "Review" ("Reviews")
(See below how to enable this option on your page)
This is very important for building your reputation, especially when you need a recommendation and raising the profile of your business. Everyone needs this. Just ask the people who have used your services to give their assessment. Rest assured that those who are satisfied will rate you highly. As a rule, dissatisfaction is voiced immediately and if someone has felt dissatisfied with your services, they will probably have already written or commented negatively. (Stay tuned for a post on dealing with negative ratings and comments coming soon).
A good example of using ratings from our practice is our brand post Christian of Romain which we asked publicly the fans of the page to give their evaluation.
We have released such a publication 3-4 times within half a year and the result to date is 25 excellent (5 star) ratings. It's not the greatest thing in the world, but it's much better than nothing, and our effort was minimal.
When you receive a high score, be sure to say thank you! We all like our actions to be appreciated, and this is how you show that your followers' opinions are important to you.
IMPORTANT!
The "Review" option is not available on all business pages and you need to follow a few steps to activate it. The "Reviews" option is available for pages that are tagged in the following categories and (IMPORTANT) have a valid address listed:
Local business | Brand | Product | Public figure | Band/music | Company
How to add "Review"
- Log in to your page
- Go to the "About" section ("About)"
- Select "Page Information" ("page info")
- Choose one of the categories we have listed for you
- Add your business address and tick that you want to see the reviews
- Review button will appear
3. Comment when someone checks in at your place of business
Businesses that have a physical location and have listed their address correctly receive check-ins (marks) from people who visit them.
If your business is a restaurant, it would be great to write a simple "Cheers!" or "Bon Appetit!" to a customer who has marked down for lunch, for example. Or, if you saw the remark long after it happened, you could simply say, "We hope you enjoyed it," or "Did you try the lunch menu?" If you're a shop, company or otherwise - "We look forward to seeing you again" or "We're glad you used our services" or whatever strikes your fancy, we give you suggestions 😉 .
This will create a good impression, remind you of yourself and demonstrate care and attention to customers.
4. Reply to comments on your posts
The point of social networks and the presence of businesses there is to have a lively dialogue with people.Besides, users are our biggest critics, they can give useful feedback, ideas, they are our best ambassadors.
When you receive a comment, respond, and if possible, ask a question so that the conversation doesn't end. This is especially important because there's a good chance that Facebook will take note of the engagement and show the post to the commenter's friends, respectively - so you'll reach more people.
That's what we did when sharing an album of our favorite destinations in Greece. We shortened the distance and showed our willingness.
5. The Games
One way to encourage fans to your page and keep them engaged is through games. A common practice for participating in them is to answer a question as a comment below the post. However, we have a good practice in maximizing the effect of these types of games and we encourage you to give it a try as well.
Ask participants to tag someone in a comment below your post. Again, this increases your chance of reaching more people. At the very least, you're reaching people who are tagged who might not have otherwise come across your game. That's actually a two-fold increase in engagement, because as many people have commented, that many more have been notified that they've been tagged and seen your post (game).
We hope we have been helpful. If you have any questions or need help, you know we're always here to help. Facebook is vast, but it's an idea more understandable when there's someone to help you 😉.
